The Odisha Elementary School Teachers’ Association (OESTA) on Sunday said that over 17,000 Siksha Sahayaks would join the Odisha Siksha Sahayak Association’s indefinite stir on March 12 to press for regularization of Sikhya Sahayaks, who have completed six years.

The OESTA took a decision in this regrd at a meeting held here on the day.

OEASTA president Yudhistir Sahoo alleged that even after completing six years in job the Sikhya Sahayaks have not been regularised though the Education Principal Secretary had issued directives in 2014 to regularise them.

Sahoo said the OESTA has requested the newly-appointed School and Mass Education Secretary to make his stand clear on the issue.

It might be mentioned here that as per the report of Mass Education Department there are nine districts left behind while as per the OPPEPA reports there are 17 districts are of the category, by which it is clear that there is no coordination between the Education Department and the OPPEPA.

Among others, OESTA advisor Sunil Pradhan, secretary general Jeet Ranjan Mahapatra, general secretary Aratbhanjan Sahu, secretary Naresh Chandra Sahu, working president Bhagirath Pradhan, Shiv Sankar Jena, Jyotimayee Agasti, Ranjan Mohanty and Santosh Behera were present.
