Odisha people migrating to Andhra: Union Min

PNS

Union Minister of State for Rural Development Ram Kripal Yadav here on Wednesday blasted the State Government on issues of his being ignored by the Nabarangpur district administration and poor implementation of the Central Government’s schemes.

Yadav, who had visited Nabarangpur on Tuesday, told reporters on his return here that the district’s Collector and Superintendent of Police did not receive him as per the protocol.

This showed that the State administration did not want him to visit the backward areas to oversee execution of the Centrally-sponsored welfare programmes.

He alleged that the State Government has utterly failed to implement the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme and the Indira Awas Yojana in Nabarangpur district.

As a result of the neglect in execution of the MGNREGA, poor people of the district have been migrating to neighbouring Andhra Pradesh in search of their livelihoods, Yadav said.

However, in reply to the Union Minister’s allegation, State Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi, who belongs to Nabarangpur, said that Yadav had gone to the district for attending BJP programees and that the district has made good progress in developmental schemes.
