Odisha Jan Sammukhya to make alliance with parties sans BJD, BJP

Excluding the BJD and the BJP, the Odisha Jan Sammukhya (OJS) would make alliance with other parties which are like-minded in order to dethrone the BJD Government in the coming elections, said Sammukhya chairman Ajey Rout while addressing the Press here on Friday.

Rout clarified that the OJS would not compromise on its values for the sake of alliance. “If any further coalition doesn’t take place, the party will field its own candidates in all the Assembly constituencies,” he said. OJS convener and Samruddha Odisha chief Jatish Mohanty said the human development index of the State has gone down during the BJD rule. People are suffering from a lot of difficulties like price rise, crop loss, corruption, unemployment, lack of infrastructure and good policies to speed up the growth rate of the State.

Issues including farmer suicide, labourers’ death in industrial mishaps, violence against women, deterioration of law and order and loot of natural resources by corporate houses are galore in the State. “If we fail to defeat the BJD Government, we cannot deliver justice to the people,” said Mohanty. The OJS would launch campaigns at the grassroots level for the General elections. It would make the voters aware about the issues and persuade them to opt for an alternative for the State’s development said Mohanty.
