Claiming that the Modi Government at the Centre would make Odisha a developed State, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said the Centre aims at ensuring that labourers from Odisha do not go outside the State in search of works.
Speaking at a ”virtual rally” for people of Odisha, Shah said Odisha would be a developed State only when the State becomes a BJP fortress.
Taking jibe at the Congress, Shah said the State was being neglected during the regime of Congress at the Centre. During the 13th Finance Commission, Odisha received only Rs 79,486 crore. However, after Narendra Modi came to power, Odisha has been allocated around Rs 5,52,109 crore in the past five years. “This shows our commitment towards Odisha’s development,” he said.
The Rs 20 lakh crore package for Odisha announced by the Centre would benefit the State’s farmers and small and medium entrepreneurs. The decision to hike MSP of agriculture commodities would also benefit the State, he said.
