The Cement Division unit of the Orissa Cement ltd (OCl) has bagged prestigious silver category in the 16th Annual Greentech Environment Award-2015. Participating in the competition for the first time, OCl not only passed through several stringent criteria but also impressed one and all with a high voltage presentation, about its commitment for the environment.
The participating industries were segregated under 18 different sectors for judgment purpose, where more than 140 industries from all over India had participated.
AED, Engineering, P Muralimohan and Senior Manager, Environment, AK Mishra received the award in a function held at Hyderabad on November 28 from Union Minister YS Choudary. Greentech foundation chairman and CEO Kamaleshwar Sharan was also present.
The Greentech Environment award is one of the most prestigious honour for the industries as the recognition to their environmental achievements at national level, sources said. This award is given by Greentech Foundation, which was established in the year 2000. It is a non- profit Organisation that has taken a lead role in promoting education, training, research and dissemination of knowledge, advancing the scientific, technical and practical aspects of safety at work place, environment protection, climate change and CSR activities, source added.
