Nuapada Cong protests health service mess

PNS

The Congress on Monday staged a dharna before the Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital and five Community Health Centres across the district to protest against the worsening health service.

“Both the Central and sState Governments have failed to provide minimum health services to people. Posts of doctors are lying vacant and the limited number of doctors available in the hospitals is involved in private practices. Medicines are not available in the hospitals, but neither the Centre nor the State Governments has paid any attention to all this,” said PCC secretary Adhiraj Panigrahi while addressing the public at Khariar.

The demonstration at the DHH was led by district Congress president Ghasiram Majhi. A memorandum addressed to the Governor consisting of various demands like provision for carrying dead body, stopping private practices by doctors and provision for blood bank was given to the respective medical officers of different hospitals.

The party leaders also raised the Dana Majhi issue and condemned the callousness of the Government and health service providers.
