NTPC Talcher Kaniha received the first rake of coal from Kaniha mines on Thursday. The MCl started loading of coal from Kaniha wharf wall on to the NTPC rake in the presence of officers of both companies. The first loaded coal rake was flagged off from the Kaniha wharf wall by NTPC Executive Director B Fadnavis.
On the first day, three coal rakes brought 4,000 tonnes of coal to NTPC Talcher-Kaniha from the Kaniha mines. With this new coal linkage from the Kaniha mines, it is expected that power generation at the Talcher Super Thermal Power Station would increase and the issue of short supply of coal faced by the power station would be mitigated.
