Congress student wing National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) staged a rally in Bhubaneswar on Saturday demanding resignation and arrest of Minister Pratap Jena for his alleged involvement in three political murder cases in his Mahanga constituency.

The rally, which started from the Congress Bhawan and moved towards the official residence of the Minister, was stopped by police which also arrested protesters at Raj Mahal Square.

The NSUI leaders who were arrested included State president Sayeed Yasir Nawaz and national secretary Rosan Lal Bitu. They alleged that the Chief Minister is shielding his Cabinet colleague Pratap Jena, who is involved in massive corruption.

Nawaz also stated that Minister Jena should be brought to the purview of the investigation into the murder cases without any further delay.
