City-based dance institute Nrutyashala organised its 12th annual dance festival at the Rabindra Mandap here on Sunday. The evening began with Mangalacharan by the students of the institute. Basing on the Sloka Nilachala Nibasaya Nityaya Paramatmane, the dancers invoked lord Jagannath and remembered the Patitapabana Darubrahma. This dance was quite enthralling for the audience.
This was followed by a captivating solo performance Saberi Pallavi by Guru Bandita Ghoshal on Raga Saberi and Tala Ektali. Her graceful postures and eye expressions captured the attention of the audience. The dance performances by the students of the institute also included folk dance and Odishi drama Madhubasanta. Nrutyashala director Guru Ashok Kumar Ghoshal inaugurated the festival.
