Kanakadei Bhatra, the girl student of Nabarangpur district who attempted to commit suicide by setting herself on fire after her parents expressed their inability to pay her school fees, was shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack on Friday evening.
Kanakdei, a Class X student of the Ghatguda High School under Papdahandi block, had been admitted to the MKCG Medical College Hospital at Brahmapur but had to be shifted to Cuttack after her condition worsened further.Sources at MKCG Medical College Hospital had said Kanakdei has suffered 95 per cent burns on her body and chances of survival in such cases are extremely remote.
