In a major success for them, security forces on Saturday busted a Maoist camp and seized huge caches of arms and ammunitions in the Patadaraha Reserve Forest in Nuapada district.

While conducting a combing operation, CRPF, SOG, DVF personnel traced the camp of the Red rebels and seized 689 detonators, ten tiffin bombs, a revolver and some Maoist literature.

However, no Maoists were there at the camp during the raid. It was suspected that Maoists might have stocked the explosives at the site to ambush security personnel.

The combing operation had been launched after getting intelligence report of Maoist activities in the forest. The operation was still going on, sources said.

During a combing operation conducted by CoBRA personnel in February, 120 detonators, 37 gelatin sticks and 20 pencil batteries had also been seized from the Pon Dungri nullah near Gatibeda village
