The Brahmapur Municipal Corporation (BMC) served notices to many companies for installing mobile towers in its jurisdictions illegally on Monday. The civic body asked the companies to submit no-objection certificates (NOCs) within seven days.

About 30 private mobile companies were served notices, informed BMC Commissioner Manoj Mohanty. A total of 103 mobile towers of various private companies are operating in Brahmapur city. But maximum towers have not submitted NOC before constructing the towers.

After a council meeting of the BMC, it asked for NOC, failing which the companies would have to pay fine, the Commissioner said.

Mohanty also said that by breaking the rules, some towers have also constructed at unsafe places. A mobile tower on the Prakasham Hall is highly unsafe, among others, he added.
