There is no need to panic over the damage on the Jagamohan roof of the Shree Jagannath temple, said Prof Arun Menon from the IIT Madras after inspecting the damage.
He said the damage occurred in course of time to the 700-year-old temple and it is a normal development. On Thursday, a three-member team of experts inspected the damaged portion of the Jagamohan of the Shree Jagannath temple.
The ongoing repair work is in the right direction. Menon was accompanied by superintending engineer of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Delhi RS Jamuel and regional superintendent of ASI Jiban Kumar Pattnaik.
