Demanding enforcement of the Orissa Prohibition Act, 1956, the activists of the Milita Odisha Nisha Nibaran Abhiyan (MONNA) set out a procession and Padayatra through the heart of the capital city starting from the Vani Vihar gate to the Sishu Bhavan Square on Friday.
Milita Odisha Nisha Nibaran Abhiyan (MONNA) convener former MlA Padma Charan Nayak said, "If the political parties don't support the cause, they will not get our support during the coming elections."
Since no political party is interested in enforcement of the Act, the participants also warned that those who are not for prohibition won't get any support during the elections.
The participants along with students held a discussion on 'Why prohibition' at the Koustav Engineering College. The students wholeheartedly supported the move for total prohibition and praised the movement organised by the Milita Odisha Nisha Nibaran Abhiyan (MONNA).
They expressed their desire to extend all sorts of cooperation for the noble cause.
