As expected, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday trashed political speculations about his visit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official residence in New Delhi on Wednesday and State leader of Opposition and Congress veteran Narasingha Mishra’s meeting with him at his Delhi house on Thursday.
Patnaik was answering to reporters’ queries on his return, a day earlier than the schedule, from New Delhi here.
The BJD supremo reiterated his stand of equidistance from the BJP and the Congress. He said he had called on the Prime Minister to present him a copy of the book “The Tall Man Biju Patnaik” and the talk of the BJD’s move to join the NDA is baseless.
He said Narasingha Mishra, who talked to him for only five minutes, was in connection with support for the World Hockey event the State Government is going to host in Bhubaneswar.
