The State Government on Monday issued a notice to the Nicco Park authorities here not to use the premises for marriage receptions and other social functions of private parties as the authorities have violated various provisions of the deed of licence of the park land.
Director of Estates RN Dash of the General Administration (GA) Department in the notice to the chairman of BDA City Centre limited said the land, popularly known as 'lake Area', measuring about 24 acres under Madhusudan Nagar mouza (Unit- IV) in the city was given to the BDA City Centre on licence basis for the purpose of setting up an amusement park and other related activities like a recreation centre and a multiplex cinema.
But 16 years have already passed and the Nicco Park authorities are yet to set up a recreation centre and a multiplex cinema over the land which violates para-4 of the deed of licence.

The local Revenue Inspector in a report confirmed that the demised land was not being maintained properly, resulting in an unhygienic atmosphere.
"You are, therefore, called upon to stop forthwith the practice of using the demised land for marriage receptions and other social functions of private parties and to remedy the breach of conditions of licence indicated supra within one year from the date of receipt of this notice, failing which action will be taken to determine the licence and resume the possession of the demised land under clause-5(a) of the said deed of licence," said the notice.
