The police are yet to get any clue in Bhattli firing case where a youth, Bulu Satnami (18), supposed to be a BJP supporter, died.
It is further learnt that the place where the incident occurred is not a BJP office but the residence of a doctor used by his BJP supporter son and other members for political works.
During Bijepur election, there was an attack on Hirashis Acharya, a BJP youth wing leader of the State and son of Dr Sunil Acharya of Bhattli. Since then, he was not coming to his home and staying outside. But feeling secured, he planned to come home on Saturday.
But the previous night, to the utter surprise of every one, the incident of firing took place in his house and a youth died. He was first rushed to the Bargarh District Headquarters Hospital where doctors forwarded him to VIMSAR, Burla. But doctors in Burla declared him brought dead.
But the police are yet to reach any conclusion as to the reason behind the firing and death of Bulu. “We have detained three youths in this connection. But they are not revealing anything,” informed Bargarh SP Mukesh Kumar Bhamoo. “Since the victim is no more, it is difficult to know the truth. Only the postmortem report and the police investigation will reveal the reason behind Bulu’s death,” Bhamoo added.
He further expressed dissatisfaction on the role of Dr Sunal Acharya who is not giving any major clue to the police. Moreover, the youths detained by police are looking like veteran criminals by appearance.
When such people were coming to his house frequently and operating political activities from there, how could Dr Acharya not know it, the SP asked. “Dr Acharya seems to hide something,” he said further.
Whether Bulu killed himself or somebody else killed him is now a challenge before police to unearth. However, a section of other people attributes it to be political revenge. But as it has happened in the house of a doctor and a responsible man, many other deny such apprehension.
