No impact of Shah's visit: Naveen

Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik on Friday said BJP president Amit Shah’s visit to the State would have no impact.

Asked by reporters about any political effect of Shah’s three-day visit that ended on the day, Patnaik said, “I don’t see any impact.”

He reiterated his “doubt” over the chances of the BJP achieving its target of ‘120+’ seats in the State Assembly in the next general elections.

“I doubt whether they will get so many seats in the next elections,” Patnaik repeated.

Replying to Shah’s remarks that the BJP’s rivals in Odisha are growing old, Patnaik said, “I don’t know why he has doubts about my age.”

Notably, Shah had said on Thursday, “Some think it is impossible to get 120 seats and form Government in Odisha. But let me tell you they (political rivals) have grown old whereas the BJP has young leadership,”.
