The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has cancelled the Occupancy Certificate issued to leading biscuit manufacturer Anmol Industries ltd for failing to comply with the fire safety norms mandated by the Director-General of Fire Services in its unit at Anlapatna, Chandaka built over a plot allotted by the Idco.
After the unit’s management failed to provide any compliance on the fire safety requirements, the Director General of Fire Services had written a letter to the BDA Vice-Chairman to initiate process of cancellation of the Occupancy Certificate.
It may be noted that as a standard practice, the authority shall grant the Occupancy Certificate to a building after all infrastructures for the utility services for the entire building are physically provided.
