In view of complaints of toxic water and oil polluting agricultural land and damaging crops by local farmers, a joint team of IOCL, Paradip Refinery and Pipeline office visited Dhinkia, Trilochanpur and Badkanta village and peripheral areas. They found no oil and waste water discharge in vicinity. It is pertinent to mention that the effluent water is treated at ETP unit of refinery and bulk of it is reused. Only a small fraction of treated effluent which meets the standards is discharged to deep sea through pipeline. The team interacted with the Sarpanch and villagers and explained about the fact.
