The families of the two contract labourers who died in an accident in the SAIl’s Bolani mines on Saturday, are yet to receive any compensation from the company.
Three labourers from Bolani Basti, Suresh Munda (22) and Ignesh Khedia (22) and Minaz Uddin of Shanti Nagar, were working near the new reclaimer project on Saturday while the accident occurred. Minaz and Suresh were killed as the reclaimer hit them after losing track. Badly injured Ignesh was shifted to the SAIl’s Rourkela hospital where he is under treatment.
locals staged an agitation demanding a compensation of `15 lakh to the deceased’s families. But the company is yet to respond with an excuse that the workers were engaged under a contractor.
