Hundreds of students from Sri Jagannath Mahavidyalaya in Naugaon on Saturday held protest decrying theHigher Education department's recent notification cancelling this year's college union elections in theState.
The agitated students claimed that during admission and readmission college authorities are collecting union fee from the students and if the elections are revoked the money should bereturned to the students, they demanded. Following the agitation, the college Principal rushed to the spot and held discussion with the students and assured that the union fees collected from the students would be diverted to college development works.
He received a memorandum from students addressed to the Governor.
