No BRCCs, CRCCs: SSA goes haywire in R'kela

PNS

Primary education in Sundargarh district is in a shambles thanks to lack of proper monitoring in the implementation of the SSA scheme due to vacancy of BRCC and CRCC posts.

The onus of ensuring quality primary education lies on the district’s Sarba Shiksa Abhiyan (SSA) authorities. But surprisingly, the SSA is still unable to post required number of BRCCs and CRCCs under the Rourkela education district.

A study says in many blocks such as Nuagaon and lathikata, the BRCC posts have been laying vacant for last six months. Besides, about 20-25 CRCC posts in cluster level are lying vacant. After the promotion or superannuation of the post holders, a recruitment / promotion process was initiated in August and the written examination has already been conducted. But after three months, the final posting list has not been published.

Speaking on the reason of delay in process the District Project Coordinator, SSA, Sundargarh Gourab Patel said due to the objection of certain teachers’ union of the district on the validity of selection process it was delayed. The teachers’ unions argued that the teachers under DRDA cannot be posted as BRCCs and CRCCs. So the allegations of the teachers’ unions are being forwarded to OPEPA and Mass Education department and the sooner the clarification comes, the earlier the posting process will restart.

It is noteworthy to be mentioned that the BRCCs and CRCCs are responsible for distribution of books, dresses and mid-day meals materials in the schools of their respective zone. Besides, they are instructed to gather EMSI information from every school.

The BRCCs and CRCCs are also supposed to inspect the school on implementation of the SSA programme. So these works are stand still in Rourkela education district for delay in recruitment process.
