The Niladrivihar Youth and Cultural Association (NYCA) suspended four of its senior members for indiscipline activities at its annual general body meeting held here recently.
The committee approved suspensions unanimously. Similarly, it selected new office bearers for the year 2015-16. While Prakash Chandra Panigrhi was named as president, Narayan Pratap Ray as vice-president, Biswajit Pattnaik general secretary, Ramesh Chandra Mohanty assistant secretary, Kumar Barik cultural secretary, Suresh Kumar Das sports secretary, Prakash Chandra Sahoo treasurer and Sukanta Kumar Rout was chosen as coordinator.
Besides, Gadadhar Prasd Rath, Basanta Kumar Mallick, Bata Krushna Panda, Sishir Kumar Moharana, Umesh Chandra Ojha, Niranjan Sahoo and Arjuni Kumar Dehury were selected as executive body members. Among those nominated as advisors are Abhaya Kumar Samantray, Chandra Sekhar Pati, Sabyasachi Mohapatra (cine producer and director) and Dushasan Moharana (founder member). The new team would take over the charge from January 1, 2015. The committee also decided to host a three-day cultural feast to mark NYCA’s 22nd annual cultural function in May 2015.
