The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought an action-taken report (ATR) from the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate of Police over the casting couch issue where a choreographer blackmailed a girl with a surreptitiously shot sex video. The commission has asked the top cop to submit report in four weeks. Angul-based Human Rights Watch moved the apex human rights watchdog alleging that one Banditbinaya Sen (lubun) raped and blackmailed a girl making many promises. The petitioner urged the commission to direct the police to seal the house where the sex video was made. She further requested the NHRC to give a compensation of Rs10 lakh to the victim girl. lubun was arrested on April 28 on the charges of blackmailing a girl.
