City-based NGO Rural and Urban Progressive Action (RUPA) celebrated the World TB Day at Shakti Nagar here on Tuesday. Senior advocate of the Ganjam Bar Association Manoj Panda and noted TB and chest specialist Dr Chandramani Swain joined the event as guests of honour and spoke on the TB disease and its impact on health as well as treatments and other related facilities available in Government hospitals.
later, the RUPA in collaboration with the District Civil Supplies Office, Ganjam observed the World Consumer Rights Day. Advocate Panda made an elaborate presentation on the Consumer Protection law and its impact in the society.
RUPA President Biranchi Narayan Mahapatra presided over both the two meetings. Its general secretary Susanta Kumar Kar and treasurer Bishnu Prasad Mishra were present, among others.
