A newly-married woman was arrested by the Sundargarh police on Monday for allegedly killing her husband. Police have launched a manhunt for two youths, including the paramour of the woman, who abetted the crime and were absconding.

Trilochan Minj (30), a resident of Kishanpara under Rajgangpur police station, had married Baijanti Minz (25) , a resident  of Gadposh under Sambalpur district three months ago. According to sources, before her marriage, Baijanti had love relationship with one Soren (25), a resident of Jharsuguda. After marrying Trilochan, Baijanti was regularly in touch with Soren. Even Soren used to come to Baijanti’s in-laws house and Baijanti was introducing Soren as her cousin brother. Baijanti had planned with Soren to do away with Trilochan.

On Thursday evening, Baijanti had told Trilochan to bring Soren and his friend who were standing at laing square to their house. Trilochan went there by bicycle and met the two youths. However, while coming home, the duo killed Trilochan by strangulating him near a pond at Ghoghar. Then they threw Trilochan’s body and his cycle inside a bush there. later, they informed Baijanti about the murder.

When Trilochan had not returned home, his family members lodged a missing case in Kansbahal police outpost. On Sunday evening, some locals of Ghoghar found the decomposed body of Trilochan in the bush. Police after reaching the spot called Trilochan’s family members for identification and the latter identified the body.

Police over suspicion detained Baijanti who confessed as to how the crime was committed as per a plan when interrogated.
