Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s paternal house in Puri was dedicated to the nation as a museum.  Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Maheswar Mohanty inaugurated the museum on Tuesday.

Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Panda, Puri MP Panaik Mishra, Tourism and Culture Secretary Manaranjan Panigrahi, Director Bijay Kumar Nayak,  Puri Collector Jyotiprakash Das and ADM Binay Kumar Dash were among others present on the occasion.

Now, visitors can watch the house of Janakinath Bose, father of Netaji by paying Rs 10 each. After a long legal tangle in the Orissa High Court, the paternal property of Netaji came to the State Government.

Notably, during per-Independence period, Janakinath was living in the house near the beach for long days. Against the bid of State Government to bring the property to its possession for a museum, the family of Netaji had filed a case in the HC.
