Neighbourhood Day celebrated in Bhadrak

PNS

Respecting the neighbours, especially the deprived people, and helping the victims of injustice is the motto of the Universal Neighbourhood Day celebration, said founder of the day and social activist Radhakanta Tripathy while celebrating the occasion at Barikpur Chowk here on Tuesday.

This was the fourth consecutive year of the celebration of the day under leadership of Tripathy and it has been appreciated by the India Book of Records.

Tripathy, a Supreme Court lawyer, said the aim of the celebration is to recognise and respect the neighbours. Wherever there is human existence, the importance of neighbours must be felt. The duties and responsibilities of each and every one for neighbours should be performed in a judicious manner, he added.

Residents of Naguan, Todanga, Jalamandua, Nirgundi gram panchayats joined the celebration. Among others, lawyer Prabas Barik, artist Kalandi Malik, educationist Harekrushna Barik and Surendra Gochchayat were present.
