The student unrests in college campuses are increasing day by day and it is spoiling the educational atmosphere. Using the students, political leaders are trying to fulfil their personal benefits. The political leaders are also serving the purposes of their parties by playing divide-and-rule tactics among students. This is the biggest threat to the students’ unity, said Delhi University Students’ Union president Amit Tanwar and JNU student leader Jahnavi Ojha on Tuesday.
“We need a disciplined campus, not a political one,” they said at the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) State-level student leaders’ convention here.
They claimed that the ABVP always believes in students’ unity.
Attending as chief guest, social worker Pravas Acharya discussed on the responsibilities of students towards the society.
ABVP State president Dillip Das, national vice-president Prasanta Rout, State secretary Abhilash Panda and Chiranjibi Nayak were present, among others, and congratulated the newly-elected Students’ Union leaders owing allegiance to the ABVP.
More than 500 students’ leaders were present. They promised to develop the college campuses, make a liquor-free and clean campus and help conduct examinations in time.
