PNS

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday laid the foundation-stone of the proposed Pandit Raghunath Murmu Government Medical College at Rangamatia in Mayurbhanj district.

The college would be established at an estimated expenditure of Rs202 crore. Its construction would be completed by 2017, official sources said. The Chief Minister later addressed a gathering at Chhaupadia and said his Government is committed towards providing good health services to the poor and tribal people.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak said the new medical college would solve the issue of scarcity of doctors in the district. Patients from neighbouring States like Jharkhand and West Bengal could also avail health services after establishment, he added.
