Naveen in a hurry to hold UlB polls: KV

PNS

With the coming urban local bodies (UlB) elections in view, BJP State president KV Singh Deo visited the district here on Monday to boost the morale of the party workers and get them prepared for the polls.

Attending a meeting, Singh Deo alleged that the State Government was in a hurry to hold the UlB polls in the left out nine western Odisha districts to divert the attention of the public from corruption Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has made in the Hindalco deal.

Singh Deo said that contrary to media reports, the State has not yet provided full relief to the victims of the twin calamity, while there have been rampant lapses and corruptions in the distribution of the relief materials.

When the whole of Odisha has been grappling with flood and storm miseries, Patnaik, instead of concentrating his attention on proper and efficient relief and restoration work, is planning to start campaigning for the UlB elections to ensure BJD’s victory, he said and exhorted the party workers to establish direct contact with the masses and strengthen the party from the grassroots.

Former BJP State president Suresh Pujari, Sambalpur MlA Jaynarayan Mishra, BJP leaders Radha Rani Panda, DK Jain, District BJP president Pramod Senapati and party’s legal cell members were present.
