Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday lashed out at the BJD Government dubbing it “incapable”.
“The Naveen Government is incapable,” Javadekar said while speaking to mediapersons on his arrival here. He repeated that Re 1-per-kg rice is a Central scheme, but the State Government is claiming it as its own. Javadekar also reiterated BJP president Amit Shah’s assertion that the party would form the next Government in Odisha winning more than 120 Assembly seats.
As part of the ongoing reforms in the country’s education system, Class-X board examinations would be reintroduced, said Javadekar at a Press meet in Puri. Besides this, it has also been decided to conduct examinations in Classes V and VIII, said Javadekar. He added that schools would also detain students who fail the end-term exams in these classes. The students, however, will be allowed to improve and appear for another exam before being detained, he added. At present, students until Class VIII are promoted to the next class irrespective of their performance.
He informed that 25 States have approved the move of the Union Government through a bill which has been placed in the lok Sabha for passing.
“We have taken four major steps for ensuring quality education for all in various schools and one such step, learning outcomes, would be introduced from the next month,” said Javadekar.
Javadekar also informed that 15 lakh BEd teachers have registered under the Swayam programme in which they would be given proper training.
