The Naveen Patnaik Government, which has ruled Odisha for 18 years, hasn’t done anything for the common people of the State. While farmers are committing suicide, women are not feeling safe, said BJP national general secretary and Odisha in-charge Arun Singh on Monday.
Singh, who is on a three-day tour of the State, during to his visit to Angul district, at a Press conference lambasted the State Government, saying there are no employment opportunities for youths in the State. The people are still grappling with problems like bad roads, impure drinking water, a dilapidated education system and poor healthcare facilities. For all this, the BJD Government is fully responsible.
He further said that the officials not visiting the farmers affected by drought, pest attacks and unseasonal rains is highly unfortunate. From this, the anti-farmer policies of the State Government can be easily ascertained. To a question on the Mahanadi dispute, he said as the State Government has failed on all fronts, it is raising the Mahanadi issue and hoodwinking the people.
