The Council of Ministers, which met on the first day of the fifth BJD Government, gave an in-principle approval to the party’s election manifesto promises for implementation on a priority basis by the Government.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik called upon the Ministers to work dedicatedly towards building a “new and empowered Odisha”.
.“Build an empowered Odisha where poverty will be a thing of the past, an empowered Odisha where women are equal partners in growth and development, an empowered Odisha which is inclusive of all vulnerable sections in its landscape of development and an empowered Odisha where the dreams of our youth come true,” Patnaik said.
Emphasising on his earlier 3Ts (Teamwork, Transparency and Technology) of governance, Patnaik added another dimension, ‘Time’ to the 3Ts.
“Time is a very important dimension. Our youths are eager to do everything promptly. We got international recognition for managing Cyclone Fani for timely evacuation. We held Asian Athletic Championship in 90 days. We brought 30 lakh more women into the Mission Shakti fold. We implemented historic KALIA in 15 days. We successfully implemented Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana in 30 days. People want this governance model,” Patnaik said.
Patnaik said, “We will present before the people our achievements vis-a-vis promises on completion of 365 days from today. I know some of the promises take time. I want the Council of Ministers to put their best efforts in achieving a new and empowered Odisha. The world should know that Odisha’s time has come. And our time starts now.”
