--Pressing for 3-point charter of demands

: The Brahmapur Postal Division branch of the National Association of Postal Employees Group-C (NAPE Gr C) has threatened to resort to agitation in support of its three-point charter of demands.

Association secretary Kedarnath Satapathy has given a strike notice here on Wednesday addressed to the Superintendent of POs, Brahmapur in this regard. The indefinite strike will be held in front of the Division Office, Brahmapur from May 29.

The demands include immediate change of the Divisional Head; reinstatement of the Divisional President by cancelling his undue transfer order and action against the person(s) responsible for framing false allegations against the office bearers of the NAPE Gr C Brahmapur branch.

According to an insider who did not wish to be identified, the postal authorities seem to be extremely soft on a senior officer of the division against whom a host of allegations of corruption have been levelled by the association since May 10. However, no action has yet been taken in the matter.

Sources alleged that Divisional President Tarini Mohanty was deliberately transferred by the PMG outside the division i.e., to Rayagada at the behest of the concerned senior officer who wanted to destabilise the union.
