The Smt Nandini Satpathy Memorial Trust (SNSMT) observed the International Youth Day here on Wednesday by organising a youth summit with this year’s theme on Youth Civic Engagement.
Young volunteers of the SNSMT from several parts of State attended the summit. Noted socio-political leader and SNSMT Chairman Suparno Satpathy inaugurated the meeting and said, “No sustainable development ever is possible without active participation of youths. Unless the youths do not get involved in social, cultural, economical, political affairs, there is no way that the country can reach the heights we desire for”.
Unemployment is the biggest challenge for the youths in India; unless it is not addressed, it will be difficult to curtail the youths from being misguided towards the perpetrators of the internal security threats to India and also to the external security concerns, he added.
