The Panchapatmali Bauxite Mines of Navratna PSU National Aluminium Company limited (Nalco), located in Koraput district, has bagged awards at the concluding ceremony of 16th Mines Environment & Mineral Conservation Week (MEMC) 2013-14 here on Sunday.
The Panchapatmali Bauxite Mines received the 1st prize in top soil management, the 1st prize in afforestation, the 2nd prize in reclamation & rehabilitation and the 2nd prize in overall performance under the category of fully-mechanised mines (except Keonjhar and Sundargarh).
The MEMC week is celebrated every year under the aegis of the Indian Bureau of Mines (Bhubaneswar Region), wherein various teams from different participating mines are inspected and evaluated.
