A migrant labourer from Nabarangpur has been missing in Boriguma of Koraput district for last 50 days after he went to the Kerala to earn his livelihood.

According to reports, Parshuram Bhatra of Jabaguda village under the Kodinga police limits of Nabarangpur district, along with fellow villages, had gone to Kerala in May this year. On July 2, he had started returning home. He talked with the family members after reaching Visakhapatnam. On the same day, his brother called him, but one stranger received the call and said Parshuram was lying near the Boriguma roadside in an intoxicated condition. After a few hours again, his brother tried to contact him, but the mobile was switched off. Meanwhile, the family members rushed to Boriguma but could not trace him.

The anxious family then filed a complaint in this regard at the Kodinga police station. Although a month has passed, no step has been taken to trace Parshuram, it is alleged.

When contacted, the District Labour Officer said no such case has been reported to them. Steps would be taken if a complaint is registered in this regard, he added.

“I don’t know whether my husband is alive or alive. We are still unable to contact him,” said Tula Bhara, Parshuram’s wife.
