Expelled Congress leader Soumya Ranjan Patnaik on Monday said he would soon approach the Election Commission of India for approval of his new party and its symbol.
He told reporters here that he is going to start Sankalp Samavesh of Ama Odisha from Brajarajnagar on November 25 setting his goal for an alternative political forum.
“You can say that from that place my political yatra would start,” he said.
Earlier, Patnaik had said, “The present alternatives are not acceptable (to the people). A new alternative might get acceptance.”
Soumya Patnaik’s statement came a week after his eleder brother and former PCC president Niranjan Patnaik expressed
his reluctance to contest the coming Assembly elections if his ‘junior’ Jayadev Jena continues as the PCC president.
