Additional District Judge (ADJ) Rajendra Ku Tosh awarded life imprisonment to one Dhirendra Pradhan along with fine of Rs15,000 for killing one Biswaranjan Jena alias Mitu at Dalapada gram panchayat in Kandhamal district over some love affair on September 9, 2013. Jena was doing business at Khajuripada. While he was on his way to Khajuripada from Dalpada on a bike, four persons came and killed him and later threw his dead body to Pikudimundia. The ADJ gave lifer to Pradhan after examining 14 witnesses. However, due to lack of evidence other three accused persons were acquitted in the case. The judge handed down the sentence keeping in view the severity of the crime.
