A medical college and hospital will be set up here by the Art of Living Foundation. After the foundation’s expression of interest before State Government, land identification process was initiated at Balijori and Malimunda by the foundation’s office-bearers and the district administration in the presence of Health Minister Naba Kisore Das and Bargain MP Suresh Pujari on Tuesday.
It is planned to set up the medical college on 25 acres and a wellness centre at 25 acres of land. Residents of Jharsuguda and neighbouring districts will be benefited from these projects. "By the personal initiative of the Chief Minister, the medical college and wellness centre are being established," Minister Das said.
After the projects’ approval by the Government, foundation for them would be laid by Art of Living Foundation head Sri Sri Ravishankar, foundation officials said.
