The three-day third phase police remand of godman Sura Baba's elder son Trilochan Mishra ended here on Thursday and he was remanded in judicial custody after the Crime Branch produced him in a Bhubaneswar court. Trilochan was sent to the Capital's Jharpada jail, where his arrested father and younger brother Biranchi are in custody.

It was learnt that the third phase remand of Trilochan turned out to be very fruitful for the Crime Branch as it was able to do an excellent job in extracting details about the secret properties of Sura Baba's Trahi Achyuta Ashram. The investigating officers are now trying to stitch up solid evidences against the father-sons trio to make a strong case.

According to sources, the police obtained details from Trilochan about possession of some 82 acres of land by the ashram and their family members. While 37 acres are recorded in the name of the ashram, 45 acres are recorded in the names of their family members. Of them, about 28 acres are recorded in the name of Trilochan alone, who was handling the financial transactions of the ashram.

It was further learnt that the ashram has also procured in its name landed properties at locations outside the State, including Mumbai, Kolkata and Varanasi. Sources said the Crime Branch is likely to take Trilochan and his father on remand again for quizzing in connection with several other allegations against them and the ashram.
