The State-level annual tribal festival Parab was inaugurated in the premises of the Dakhina Kali Maa Temple here on Sunday after completing several rituals and taking out a marshal rally.
The rally would be taken to different blocks. The month-long 19th Parab festival would also witness lots of competitions and sports in different panchayats and blocks. The three-day main district-level festival will be held on December 16, 17 and 18.
The inauguration event was organized with drum beating and dhemsa dance. The revellers wore traditional costumes representing 14 blocks. District Collector Yamini sadangi, SP Charan Singh Mina, MP Jhina Hikaka, MlAs Tara Prasad Bahinipati and Prafula Majhi, DCO Poma Tudu, ZP chairman Malati Majhi ,ADM Ekadashi Nayak, BDO Jeypore Trinath Majhi, APD Ashok Patra, Teshiladar Rabi Narayan Majhi, Executive officer Ranga Rao, DIPRO Prafulla Mallick and all district level officials were present.
