Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday took everyone by surprise when he paid tributes to Biju Patnaik on the latter’s birth 101st anniversary by tweeting in Odia language acknowledging the legendary leader’s diligence with which he served the society.
“On his birth anniversary, I pay my tributes to the beloved Bijubabu. He served society with diligence and positively impacted many lives,” Modi tweeted.
Patnaik was born on March 5, 1916 and died on April 17, 1997. He was Chief Minister of Odisha for two terms.
Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Suresh Prabhu and Nirmala Sithharaman also paid their tributes to Patnaik.
