Model code 'violated' by DRDA PD in Kendrapada district

PNS

The State Election Commission (SEC) has directed the Kendrapada district Collector to conduct an inquiry and submit a report on the allegations of the DRDA Project Director (PD) violating the model code of conduct during the panchayat elections.

Notably, on February 14, DRDA PD Pradipta Kishore Satapathy in a letter directed all the BDOs of the district to expedite the distribution of houses under the IAY and Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana (BPGY), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) to the beneficiaries.

Even, in his letter the DRDA PD also asked the BDOs that all the houses should be completed by end of March 2017. Release of installments should not be slowed down in the plea of the GP election.

When the matter came to the knowledge of the SEC, a probe was ordered. “After getting the direction of SEC I have directed to conduct an inquiry in this regard and to submit a report within 48 hours, said,” district Collector Muralidhar Mallik.

As per the preliminary inquiry, it has been found that no new work order has been issued under the housing schemes. It is not violation of model code of conduct, said Mallik.
