The dharna of the Utkal Journalists Association (UJA) which reached its 15 days on Thursday got support of leaders and intellectuals.
Talsara MlA Dr Prafulla Majhi, Jayadev MlA Sashi Bhusan Behera, Korai MlA Akash Das Nayak, Dharmasala MlA Pranab Prakash Balbantaray and Sukinda MlA Priti Ranjan Ghadai came to the dharna site on the lower PMG and expressed their support and solidarity with the journalists.
MlA Behera described the demands of the union as genuine and assured to raise the issue in the Assembly and take it up with the concerned Minister. Among others were present scribe Satyaprakash Nayak, Kalinga Sena chief Hemant Rath and BJP State vice president Samir Das.
Notably, the association led by its president Bibhuti Bhusan Rakar is on dharna pressing for a 12-point charter of demands.
