Demanding arrest of Kalahandi Deputy Collector Anisha Das, who was recently suspended on the charge of dereliction in duty, three MLAs of Mayurbhanj district staged a dharna in front of the Baisinga police station on Wednesday.
Das, an OAS officer, had earlier been posted as Tehsildar of Betanati in Mayurbhanj.
Badasahi MLA Sanatana Bijuli, Baripada MLA Prakash Soren and Saraskana MLA Dr Budhan Murmu along with BJP workers staged the dharna and also demanded a Crime Branch probe into Das’ alleged relationship with mining mafia.
On July 26, the Government suspended Das and said a disciplinary proceeding against her was contemplated for negligence in discharging her duties and lack of absolute integrity.
Recently, Das was transferred from Mayurbhanj and posted as Deputy Collector of Kalahandi district.
During her posting in Mayurbhanj, a truck owner had lodged a complaint against her and three others that they had demanded bribe from him. Though she denied the allegations, the truck owner submitted an audio clip in support of his claim at the Baisinga police station in Mayurbhanj.
