A seminar on prevention of diseases like cancer, asthma and kidney was held on Wednesday here by the Mahanadi Bachao Samiti.
Attending the seminar, chief guest Jharsuguda MlA Naba Kishore Das said that the health services in the district will be geared up to prevent the increasing trend of the fatal diseases. The Government’s decision to set up a cancer hospital in Jharsuguda is a great achievement, said Das.
Dr SR Dubey advised audience to live a simple life, consuming simple and healthy food and doing regular exercise to prevent cancer.
Dr Pravat Jain, Dr Debasloka Sharma, educationist Pratap Behera, Professor T Sahu,Chamber of Commerce senior members Suresh Bondiya, Pawan Sultania, Satyanand Pasayat, social activist Ramesh Gandhi took part in the discussion among others. Zilla Parishad President laxminarayan Patel and District Congress general secretary Raghunandan Padhy were also present.
