MlA Behera again faces revolt in home turf

In yet another instance of embarrassment for ruling BJD MlA Sashibhusan Behera, party dissidents again showed him black flags during the party’s Jan Sampark Padayatra in his Jayadev constituency.

This was the second time the MlA faced revolt from within his own party in his home turf in last 15 days.

Sources said a group of dissidents protested against Behera, who is also a spokesperson of the BJD, when he was leading the party’s public contact drive at Balipatna. The activists showed him black flags and shouted slogans against him.

However, police personnel deployed at the spot managed to avert a scuffle between the MlA’s supporters and opponents.

Earlier on September 25, a group of dissident BJD workers had protested against the MlA at Enderkala village under Satyabhamapur gram panchayat under Balianata block by showing him black flags when he arrived at the village to inaugurate some projects.

Moreover, a few days ago, Korei BJD MlA Akash DasNayak had also been shown black flags by his own party workers in his home turf in Jajpur district, exposing that everything is not well in the party.

These developments have come as a jolt to the ruling party with just six months left for the panchayat polls.
